Born in Dresden in 1955, Steffen Volmer studied at the Academy of Visual Arts in Leipzig from 1976 to 1981. From 1982 to 1984, he was a master student of Prof. Gerhard Kettner at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Steffen Volmer lives and works as a painter and graphic artist in Chemnitz. His works are represented in numerous German and international exhibitions and private collections.

Osmar Osten (pseudonym since reunification) born as  Bodo Osmar Münzer, 1959 in Karl-Marx- Stadt,   is an important  word and image artist from Chemnitz, whose whimsical wit, paired with Saxon composure, reliably ensures a good mood. Osmar Osten is the great inspirer among the artists in Chemnitz, a connecting figure between the generations and a magical attraction for the city's creative scene.

Frank Ahlgrimm, born 1965 in Rerik, represented in many national and international exhibitions and museums as well as collections, now lives and works in Berlin. His  abstract formal language   comprises  clear color fields as well as impulsive color textures and illusionistically sprayed surfaces. His combination of writing and image, which often represent a reflection of the current social present, are to be viewed with a smile in the  corner of the eye
